Pakistan introduces its first locally made electric vehicle

On Sunday, the Dice Foundation, colleges, and the commercial sector came together to introduce the first locally built electric vehicle.

On the nation's Independence Day, the launch event took place at a nearby hotel. In the latter half of 2024, the public will be able to make reservations for the NUR-E 75 vehicle. The NED University of Engineering and Technology developed its battery pack, which has cutting-edge features. The automobile will probably be exported as well.

The Sir Syed University of Engineering is creating the chargers for these cars. To shorten charging times, work is also being done on the development of speedier chargers.

The National College of Arts produced the design, and all the car's components were created in Pakistan (NCA).

After eight hours of charging via a 220V connection, the vehicle can go 210 kilometres at a speed of 120 kilometres per hour.

Automobile, according to Dr. Khurshid Qureshi, is a significant development for the stability of the nation's economy. According to him, Pakistan has also made the first move in the global car industry toward the electric vehicle revolution. He continued by saying that this project would solve all of the nation's economic problems.

According to Dr. Qureshi, money for commercial production will be raised through Series A, B, and C rounds of fundraising. He declared that JAXERI will be the brand name used to introduce the vehicle.

The first prototype is a five-seater hatchback, but succeeding phases would also include the production of sedans and SUVs, he noted.

He added that mass producing the car would protect the environment and save money that would have been spent on importing fuel. He continued by saying that Pakistan will have access to electric automobile technology on par with Western nations, which will make it simpler to maintain domestic economic stability.
